Numbers 11-16

This teaching is the 13th part in a series of thirteen. Please read the other 12 parts.

These are the people who said a few years ago that homosexuals were insane or mentally ill people, according to their laws, isn't it? The only question I would like to put to them is that they tell me what kind of treatment these mentally ill people received to become now normal people, mentally balanced, and whose rights must be recognized and respected by all. The insane ones of yesterday have become normal and healthy persons of sound minds today, without treatment, without any therapy. You understand why they will not have any excuse before God. Today, as soon as somebody dares to say to a homosexual that it is a sin that he is committing; they say that he is homophobic. By these satanic laws that they are creating, they crucify Christ like the others did, knowing very well what they are doing. They are not ignorant at all. Those who are ignorant are the people who follow them blindly. Unfortunately, they also will burn in Hell like them. It is not because they follow them without knowledge that they will be spared. Do not forget that it is because they rejected the Gospel of Jesus-Christ, that they fall into the traps of such people.

There is another very important point that the brethren raised: The fact that Caleb wanted to do good to them but they rather wanted to stone him. Why? Because he wanted their good. You see that God gave us a complicated mission. To try to save people who do not have any intention to be saved. As soon as you attempt to save them, they consider that you have done them evil. For this reason Paul could say: Have I become your enemy because I tell you the truth? Galatians 4:16. You cannot understand these people. You take risks for them, tell them all the truth, make sacrifices or expose your life for their own good, but they on their side, rather seek to stone you. It is really complicated! Fortunately the Lord is with us. Alleluia! We can still read this passage of Numbers for better understanding of what I am explaining to you.

Numbers 14:6-10 "6But Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, who were among those who had spied out the land, tore their clothes; 7and they spoke to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying: "The land we passed through to spy out is an exceedingly good land. 8If the Lord delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us, a land which flows with milk and honey. 9Only do not rebel against the Lord, nor fear the people of the land, for they are our bread; their protection has departed from them, and the Lord is with us. Do not fear them." 10And all the congregation said to stone them with stones. Now the glory of the Lord appeared in the tabernacle of meeting before all the children of Israel."

Beloved, let us go now to the aspect of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit as the brethren mentioned a while ago. We want to reconsider this subject just to show to what extent the Lord is really faithful, good and love as His Word says. When we see the manner in which God treated these people in the desert, sometimes we may have the impression that God was too severe. Whereas if we read keenly, we can see that God's patience was not altered at all; we can read again this passage of Numbers 14:20-23 to refresh our memory:

"20Then the Lord said: I have pardoned, according to your word; 21but truly, as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord - 22because all these men who have seen My glory and the signs which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have put Me to the test now these ten times, and have not heeded My voice, 23they certainly shall not see the land of which I swore to their fathers, nor shall any of those who rejected Me see it."

The Lord talks of ten times and when He speaks about murmuring, it is not just the kind of little murmuring which is caused by the difficulties that we face each day. He speaks of people who are there insulting God in their way of doing things. We thus see that despite everything, God was patient, tolerant, and flexible as you can see. If we mentioned therefore the case of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, this refers to the people of satan. If these people were perhaps people of God who underwent incantations, after some time they would have asked for forgiveness. You did not see any of them seeking repentance if not the case of Aaron who asked for forgiveness after committing his fault as the brethren pointed it out. Apart from him, all the others were sinking into their abominations. God strikes, and the following day they still murmur. God strikes and they still plan to response. To show that you cannot just save them.

Coming back to blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, it is now clear that the more you understand the teaching of Jesus, the better you understand that those who you very often defend by ignorance are true agents of satan. We developed this aspect in the teaching on discernment. Where we said in accordance with the word of the Lord, that blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is not a sin that someone can commit easily; because it would be terrible if it were a sin like the others. Because as you know, a simple sin is easy to commit; it is sometimes after having already committed it that one realizes that he has committed it. God cannot set such a trap for us knowing that as soon as we commit it our fate is sealed.

That is why you understand better the notion of the Ethiopian who does not change his skin. People who blaspheme against the Holy Spirit are people who, voluntarily, choose to divert people from the way of God. Even before, such people were stoned, they were put to death. That's what we saw in Deuteronomy 13 a while ago. They were put to death because they were people who chose Hell. They endeavour to bring with them the maximum number of people; and this it is pure wickedness. I blessed the Lord because He warns us against that and each one of you has the teaching. So, you should not fall any more into the trap of such people.

Let us read Deuteronomy 13:1-11 "If there arises among you a prophet or a dreamer of dreams, and he gives you a sign or a wonder, 2and the sign or the wonder comes to pass, of which he spoke to you, saying, 'Let us go after other gods' - which you have not known - 'and let us serve them,' 3you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams, for the Lord your God is testing you to know whether you love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. 4You shall walk after the Lord your God and fear Him, and keep His commandments and obey His voice, and you shall serve Him and hold fast to Him. 5But that prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall be put to death, because he has spoken in order to turn you away from the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you from the house of bondage, to entice you from the way in which the Lord your God commanded you to walk. So you shall put away the evil from your midst. 6 If your brother, the son of your mother, your son or your daughter, the wife of your bosom, or your friend who is as your own soul, secretly entices you, saying, 'Let us go and serve other gods,' which you have not known, neither you nor your fathers, 7of the gods of the people which are all around you, near to you or far off from you, from one end of the earth to the other end of the earth, 8you shall not consent to him or listen to him, nor shall your eye pity him, nor shall you spare him or conceal him; 9but you shall surely kill him; your hand shall be first against him to put him to death, and afterward the hand of all the people. 10And you shall stone him with stones until he dies, because he sought to entice you away from the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage. 11So all Israel shall hear and fear, and not again do such wickedness as this among you."

We also mentioned the case of manna, by saying that the people had what to eat but nevertheless they murmured. And while we spoke about it, there was a small case which came to my mind, and I would like to share it with you. We must, each time, know how to extract the maximum of the teaching which the Lord gives us. This morning, before we started the teaching, we stood on the staircase discussing, talking about what we will eat in the evening. We were confronted with what we considered to be a problem. Because we had envisaged food for our retreat and we had already envisaged a dish or a meal per day. We thus found ourselves with princesses who had prepared as if it was for an eternal feast. The meal of Monday was so much that we were obliged to still eat it Tuesday and even Wednesday, we are likely to still eat the same meal because it is not finished. We are thus blocked with the meal of Tuesday which is already waiting in the refrigerator, and that of Wednesday which is likely to simply return.

Since yesterday, we were wondering whether it was necessary to freeze Monday's meal with the aim of eating that of Tuesday; because we did not want to serve brethren with the same meal. So, we were a bit stuck. We nevertheless served the same meal. In the morning, we still found ourselves in the same problem, because we will likely serve again the same meal in the evening, and even if the same meal is not served, if the sauce changes, the side dish will not change. So we thought we could either go quickly to the nearby store during the break to look for another accompaniment to the sauce of Monday, because it would not be good to serve brethren with the same food, or freeze the sauce and serve another meal. It is then at this point that a brother said to us: "But we are just talking about manna, people ate manna every day and did not complain, and you say if brethren are served with the same food for three days, it will be terrible?" And we stopped the conversation at this level.

So, that is to say that we often spend time over fake problems without realizing. We were saying that it would not be normal to serve the brethren with the same food today. If you eat a thing today and eat it still tomorrow, you will not die. If you can eat the same meal twice and start to murmur, then you belong to those who murmured in the desert because of manna, which is complicated. Because they did not eat manna only for two days, but they did so for several weeks; and even for several months. I do not know any more which brother intervened like that, but as soon as he spoke, we stopped the conversation at this level. And these are the kind of minute things that happen to us without us realizing. And if they are not corrected, we really will enter within the framework of those who murmured when the Lord served them with the same meal for eight days continuously. So, let us draw all the lessons from this teaching. Let us endeavour to be as simple as possible. While we complain because we ate the same meal for two days and that we will still be likely to eat it the third day, there are some who seek this same meal to eat it with joy every day, but do not find it. Really let us learn how to be grateful to the Lord, to be simple to the maximum in our manner of doing things. Let us learn to glorify the Lord for everything and to give Him thanks in all things.

I just concluded by saying to the sisters: "I know that it pleases you to make people comfortable when they visit you, and not serve them the same meal twice". I said to them: "Forget that, serve us the same meal even ten times and we will eat it with joy and thanksgivings". In all the cases, as long as we have something to eat, we bless you. Thus that marked us, because at the time we were speaking about it, a beloved intervened and reminded us about this concept of manna which we were specifically studying. And the conversation stopped immediately.

Question: There was a small debate at the end of our study yesterday. We wondered how we can do to know that God is fully in our midst, as He was in the midst of the brethren in Acts of the Apostles?

Answer: How can we know, how can we do to know that God is fully in our midst as He was in the midst of the brothers in the Acts of the Apostles? Is it easy to know it? The answer is yes, how do we know it? To know it, just observe to see if every child of God produces the unique fruit that God expects of him. And this fruit is what? It's unity. That is the answer; it's as simple as that. Develop all the great theories of the world; as long as you are not able to live in unity, the Lord will always watch you from a distance. It is as simple as that. And this is why each time we seek only unity. Why do we drive out people of Satan from the Assembly? It is because with these people, we cannot even pretend to live in unity. And we know well how to identify them. They are there to lead us to murmur, to lead us to wars one against the other. You do not expect God to come and be part of this kind of war. No, it is from a distance that He will observe us. So pursue unity!

We spoke about the case of the brothers here who finding it difficult to be united. Each time, there was always one among them to torment them, to torture them. And as soon as they were put outside, the others gather and realize that the Christian life is really possible, and that one can really live it. As soon as there is among you an element ready to bore the pants off you, you will never be united. Unfortunately, these elements are very numerous. Can we know it then? Yes we can. What should therefore be done so that God is fully in our midst? We only need to have one heart and one soul. You know my language when I am in the midst of people. I always tell them that when they are two, they are three hearts and ten souls. When you see two or three Christians today, they are at least five hearts and eight souls. And you want that God comes in their midst? What will he come to do in this kind of medium! Thus we have work to do. And it is even for that reason that the Lord has not come yet. Because it is necessary that true children of God reach perfect unity. Each time I find myself in front of children of God who dispute and who find it difficult to get along, I always say to them: "Put yourself a little in the place of God. When you argue with your brother, do you intend to enter the same Heaven?"

The other day I found myself telling brethren who were not able to get along, and who moreover, were brothers of the same assembly. I said to them: "Listen very well, tell me who among you God will accept in Heaven, since each one is brother". I said to them: "As soon as you show that one of you is not a brother, but rather an agent of satan, we will put him outside." They all were there and each one of them considering himself a brother, claiming to be of God. They believe that they all are brothers. But they fight as sworn enemies would fight. I said to them: "But something is wrong here! Tell me, who among you will God accept in Heaven?"

Here actually is what you are saying to God: "Listen Lord, listen to me very well, you either drive out this one quickly before I arrive over there, or woe onto you". You see how people warn God. Do you believe that can work? If we all are brethren, know that God has a place for each one of us in His Heaven. We cannot be fighting here with the intention to enter one day in the same Heaven. For this reason I always told children of God: When you cannot get on together, it is at least a proof that, either you all are not of God, or so some are of God, and others are of satan. At least the assumption never to make is that you all are of God. It is impossible! When you are all of God, you get along. So pursue unity!

Question: Miriam and Aaron both committed the same sin and Miriam was punished alone. Why was Aaron not punished?

Answer: Just because he is Aaron. If Miriam were Aaron, she would not have been punished. I always said you that you must endeavour to love the Lord. Don't say you are not the only one who committed a fault. Sometimes you make a fault in group, and at the end, you alone remain guilty. Thus do not imitate people in their faults, fear only the Lord. Miriam could say to herself: "But the fault was made together and I was punished alone". Why? Because Aaron is Aaron, and Miriam is Miriam. Know that God is sovereign does as He wants. Psalms 135:6 "Whatever the Lord pleases He does, in heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deep places."

I seize this opportunity to draw your attention to the state of your heart. Know that certain questions are born in your heart only when it is not pure. When your heart is impure and corrupted, you are inclined to condemn God, or with easily finding some faults in God. The fact that God chooses to punish Miriam without punishing Aaron should not lead Him to justify Himself in front of us. We are very badly placed to question God on what He does or does not do. Thus watch over your heart. I seize this opportunity to reconsider another question that somebody posed in one of the groups. Although the brothers answered this question well, by quoting us even the passage of Exodus 32:27-29 which tallies well with the situation, I find it important to return there. It is about the following question:

Question: Hadn't Moses interceded for Aaron and Miriam because they were his brothers in the flesh?

Answer: Beloved, woe onto you if you have a bad disposition of heart before the Lord! if your heart is pure, you would never ask this kind of question. It is when your heart is soiled and corrupted that you can arrive at this kind of questions. Moses as a servant of God, worked by the spirit, and not by the flesh; and each true child of God understands it very easily. To go to the extent of believing that Moses would have punished Dathan and Abiram because they were not his/her brothers in the flesh, and would have interceded for Aaron and Miriam because they were her brothers in the flesh, is a step not to be crossed, for those who believe to be of God. Because that would amount to cancelling all the good testimony that God Himself gave of Moses. Thus retain that this kind of question only comes, either from people who are not God, or from children of God whose hearts are soiled. That this is an element of discernment for you.

May the Lord be glorified! As a whole you did a very great job. You proved to the Lord what I ask people each time to do. I have always told brethren that even without pastors, they can study the word of God. If you wait for pastors today, you will wait for a very long time. There are no more. Become your own pastors and advance with God. Your manner of behaviour and the way you conducted yourselves was a very great subject of encouragement. We stopped the meeting yesterday at 16:00 officially and until 22:00 you were still studying. A study that nobody imposed on you; and a study which you made without the presence of a Pastor. You saw the result. It is splendid! That enabled you to scrutinize this text to the point of drawing from them all these great blessings which we received. May the Lord bless you abundantly! I bless the Lord who granted the grace to you to act this manner! May the grace of the Lord remains with you all in the name of Jesus-Christ, our one and only Master! Amen!

Grace be with you all who have Jesus Christ as Master!
